The Chapter received international recognition for its project on wildlife management in Africa. Operating under the initiative of Chapter members, CC-SCI funded a genetic research project in Africa aimed at maintaining and upgrading the quality of endangered species. The project is led by Dr. Bartels of the Wildlife Biological Resources Center, a project that has garnered international acclaim. The Chapter purchased a gene sequencing machine and donated it to the Center. In addition, the Chapter made a long-term commitment to aid in anti-poaching efforts through its support of the African Wildlife Trust. Poaching has a devastating effect on wildlife management and threatens the livelihood of those depending on renewable resources.
