SCI Chesapeake Chapter, November 2011

Fellow Members of CCSCI and Hunters!! I hope this belated Newsletter finds everyone well into hunting season and being successful at your outdoor pursuits. I continue to search for someone to be our Publications Chair and take over the production of our Newsletter, so if there are any volunteers out there please let me know soonest. My apologies but I have had major computer issues—and now a new computer. The only thing a new computer, software, etc. doesn’t do for you is recreate all the emails, stories and photos that were lost with a major system crash. But I hope you find this issue enjoyable. What is going on? We have a new Board of Directors elected at our last General Membership Meeting and they are all actively engaged in furthering the goals and objections of CCSCI. If you have any comments, concerns and ideas please contact any one or all of them, as well as me. We value your participation and input. Our annual Christmas Party is scheduled for the 15th of December in Annapolis. It is free to members. The venue is new and it will include heavy hors d’ouvres with a wild game flair. I have no doubt that you will enjoy it tremendously. Invitations are going out this week. Bring your friends for a great time! A week ago we held our Wounded Warrior/Handicapped Sporting Clays event at Pintail Point and despite the rather unseasonal weather, there was a good turnout of shooters and members of CCSCI in support. Thanks to Hans Salzinger and Bradley Clark for putting it together and to everyone for helping out! We held a membership drive weekend at Bass Pro two weekends ago and signed up almost 20 new members. Thanks to John George for organizing that event and to Bass Pro, specifically Brian Hunt, for supporting us. We will have a booth at the NRA show at the Frederick Fairgrounds 27-29 January 2012. If any members would like to come by and help man the booth it would be greatly appreciated. We will be in booth 104. John George is also setting up the display. Right now I and Carl Wagner will attend part of the time as well. We would love to see you there to talk about CCSCI, the Right to Hunt, Education for Young Hunters, Humanitarian Services by Hunters, and the list just goes on and on. Then there is the big Banquet/Fundraiser which is scheduled for April 21st 2012. It will be held at Farmington Country Club this year and is already coming together nicely. Look for additional information via email and mail. You won’t want to miss out on this one! Membership dues: Dues structure has been revised and it is now $20 a year for CCSCI and $100 for a life membership in CCSCI—but you have to be a Life Member in SCI per the National By-Laws to be able to take advantage of it. We will be auctioning off one of those at the Banquet/Fundraiser on April 21st. Thanks for all you do for Protecting the Right to Hunt! Good hunting!
