Shooting & Hunting Sports

Every year, the Chapter organizes and sponsors an annual CC-SCI Sporting Clays Invitational Event and supports the 4-H Invitational Sporting Clays Tournament competition. In addition, the CC-SCI holds an annual quail and pheasant shoot and participates in several European tower shoots (pheasants and duck) on the Blackwater.

CC-SCI is noted for having created a truly national facility for disabled hunters at the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. In cooperation with the "Friends of Blackwater," the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Maryland Paralyzed Veteran's Association (PVA), the Chapter created a special hunting facility on the refuge for disabled hunters, giving them access to some of the best white tail deer hunting on the Eastern Shore and some of the best sika deer hunting in the country. Chapter members not only financed the effort with a matching grant from SCI national, they devoted many hours to preparing shooting sites. The PVA generously donated a hydraulic scissors lift and a towable ground blind to make this a truly outstanding facility.
